We are condemned to be free.
Every word has consequences,
Every silence too.
Through the accretion of our choices, our actions, and our failure to act, we ultimately design ourselves.
- Jean Paul Sartre
It’s like a dream come true. This story is one I’ve wanted to realize since childhood. For those who know me, I practice many art forms from illustration, music, writing to film. Somehow, like a watercolour wet wash, this project bled together a few sides of me. Sound of the Condemned is a song and cinematic music video, inspired by the hybrid short film-esque music videos of 30 Seconds to Mars, the Oscar nominated film A Single Man, and loosely based on an obscure comic I read as a child that really left an impression on me, The Afterimage of a Boy.
This project was made possible by the support of my talented, beautiful and passionate friends who believed in my vision and came to be a part of my crew and casts. The experience of making this happen was so enjoyable, so eventful, so magical - It’s something I will cherish for all my life.
As I’m writing this, we’re at the finishing stages of shooting, entering post production and in the midst of music composition. I hope this journey and its outcome will be thoroughly enjoyable to all of you - those who participated and those seated in the audience!
This page will be updated again after our next milestone. We will be selling some cool merchandise through an Indiegogo campaign, so you can look forward to that. If you wish to be one of the first to be notified upon the film’s release, sign up to our newsletter below.
